Course Objective
This course is designed for business students with basic accounting knowledge looking for practical methods to improve their ability to report and analyze financial information. This course aims to provide a conceptual and practical framework for valuing firms, debt, and equity. The course will focus on traditional approaches such as DCF and emerging asset valuation methodologies.
Course Content
The course will cover methods for using financial data and applying valuation techniques to make strategic and financial decisions. Topics such as mergers and acquisitions, financial restructuring, leveraged buyouts, private and distressed companies valuation, and the impact of financial leverage will be introduced.

- Describe the basic methods of financial analysis and valuation to effectively manage different types of businesses
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills in the application of financial analysis and valuation techniques.
- Develop communication strategies to discuss financial analysis and valuation.
- Will be able to conduct research using a wide range of sources, synthesize the information gathered, and express it logically and persuasively in writing or orally.
- Be able to apply asset valuation in a global context, considering the interaction of international markets and economic, social and cultural issues.
