Course Objective

The course aims to provide the necessary knowledge, skills and efficacy for creating and developing organizational dynamics and processes and leadership practices that can create competitive advantage for institutions by considering human attitudes and behaviors with their antecedents, consequences and processes.

 

Course Content

This course, "Organizational Behavior," explores the dynamics of individual, group, and organizational behavior within a workplace setting. In this course students will analyze key concepts such as motivation, leadership, decision-making, organizational culture, and communication. Through case studies, interactive discussions, and practical applications, the course aims to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills relevant to managing people and teams effectively. By understanding the psychological and structural elements that drive organizational performance, students will be prepared to address real-world challenges and contribute to building productive, collaborative environments.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate the importance of interpersonal skills in the workplace.
  2. Explain how workplace discrimination undermines organizational effectiveness.
  3. Define the major job attitudes and define job satisfaction.
  4. Compare the early theories of motivation.
  5. Describe the contemporary theories of leadership and their relationship to foundational theories.
  6. Describe the functions and process of power and politics.
  7. Communicating effectively in all forms, written, visual and oral, for operating efficiently in the business environment.
  8. Employ digital skills, using different software applications to visually present information and data concisely.
  9. Apply critical thinking skills in decision-making and solving managerial behaviours problems.
  10. Perform effectively on teamwork and display interpersonal skills in applying the organizational behavior concepts and principles.
