Course Objective
This course provides a broad survey of multinational enterprises and foreign direct investment. The course draws from a variety of disciplines including business, economics, management, political economy and public policy.
Course Content
The economic and financial factors that are effective in the decisions to open abroad, the structures of multinational corporations and the strategies of entry to foreign countries, the analysis of the effects on the balance of trade and payments, the costs and benefits of the multinational companies to the developing countries will be covered.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Describe the meaning, nature and phases of multinational corporations
- They will be able to understand the contribution of Multinational corporations and foreign direct investment to the world and country economies and the balance of payments.
- They will be able to define the theories and basic principles of foreign direct investment.
