ABOUT US
With a net area of 10,426 m2 (13,500 m2 gross) and a capacity allowing 1,044 people to use it at the same time, the IZU Central Library is the largest foundation university library in Istanbul.
Our aim is to support education, teaching and research programmes and to meet all the information needs of our students, academic staff and employees.
We continue to work towards building an excellent collection in every field, above all in the disciplines taught at our University, and towards providing an exemplary library service.
Throughout the academic year, our Central Library is open on weekdays from 08.30 to 22.00 and at weekends from 10.00 to 20.00. During midterm and final examination periods it remains open 24/7 without closing. The ISEFAM Library is always open for use 24/7.

Providing the best possible support for education and teaching,
Continuously developing the library collection,
Making appropriate use of developing technology in our services,
Providing user training,
Serving not only members of the institution but, as far as resources allow,
Also serving users from outside the institution,
Enriching electronic resources and enabling access from off campus,
Keeping the library WEB site permanently up to date,
Providing uninterrupted 24/7 library service through the ISEFAM Library and remote access.
Making the 54-seat conference hall available to students and staff when required.
Lending: Our students and staff may borrow the books or periodicals they need. Services are provided in accordance with the rules set out in the "Library Directive".
Library WEB Page: The University website includes a section dedicated to the library. Researchers can find the information they need about the library and carry out catalogue searches. Group / Individual Study Rooms: Our students may reserve and use the group study rooms for studying together, holding discussions, preparing projects and similar activities. Academics who wish to work on articles, papers, theses, books and similar projects in a quiet environment may use the individual study rooms. If rooms are available, postgraduate students at the thesis stage may also use the group study rooms.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL): If books, journals or other resources needed by researchers are not held by us and are out of print, they are obtained and made available through "Interlibrary Loan".
User Training: Orientation training is provided to our students and staff in order to support effective research.
Computers and Internet: Using the computers in our libraries, our students and staff can carry out all kinds of tasks, from searching electronic databases to checking their personal e-mail. Wireless internet service is also provided for those who wish to work on their own computers.
