How IZU made me feel like home
Being in Istanbul makes you feel like you are in the heart of the world, but being at IZU makes the heart of the world feel like home. Even after only spending a few weeks here, I just know that Erasmus- but especially Erasmus here, has been one of the best decisions of my life.
Apart from the amazing University programs and classes, IZU has made the most welcoming and heartwarming atmosphere for me. Attending the classes and the club programs the University has prepared for us gives emphasis on how much they care about the diversity of the social and educational life of their students.
No matter what you study and what your days look like, you can always find time and get interested into something that is going on in the campus.
Who would even dare to describe Istanbul and all its wonders? If I may, the first thing I would say that it is tireless and makes you fall in love with life even more. It is impossible to get to know it in a short time, and it seeks you out to wander around. Orientation week gave us a perfect glimpse into the adventure that was ahead of us. From the mesmerizing cuisine, epic history and tradition, cultural sights and the charming overall energy of the city.
Being alone in a city that could easily be described as the capital of the world has not bee lonely even for a moment.
Just knowing that you have a such an amazing group of friends you made here, the most wonderful university where you are never bored, and someone looking out for you at all times is a thing that will stick with you- always. Dear IZU, I just got here, and I already don't know how I will ever leave…
