Dersin Amacı

Kursun sonunda öğrenciler şunları yapabilmelidir:

  • literatür taraması yapmayı ve veri kaynaklarını kullanmayı öğrenmek,
  • araştırma sorularını formüle etmek,
  • Bir araştırma stratejisi tanımlamak ve bir araştırma sorusunu cevaplamak için bir araştırma projesi tasarlamak,
  • sosyal araştırmanın uygulama ve ilkelerini tartışmak,
  • mevcut araştırmayı değerlendirmek, bulguları yazmak ve yaymak.

Ders İçeriği

Bu, öğrencilerin kendi araştırma projelerini gerçekleştirmelerini sağlamak için tasarlanmış bilimsel yöntemlerle ilgili pratik bir derstir. Vurgu, nicel araştırma yöntemleri üzerinedir. Kapsanan konular araştırma felsefesini içerir. Ders aynı zamanda birincil ve ikincil araştırma yürütme etiğine de odaklanmaktadır. Bu ders: a) sosyal araştırmanın temel bileşenlerini tanımlamak, b) nicel sosyal araştırma hakkında bilgi ve beceri geliştirmek ve c) sosyal araştırmanın kalitesini değerlendirmek için kullanılan kriterleri belirlemek için tasarlanmıştır.

  1. Demonstrate high level of responsibility and autonomy as a quantitative data analyst.
  2. Recognizing and describing the important “group” and “relationship exploration” related statistical techniques.
  3. Demonstration of ability to interpret statistical findings reported in top quality quantitative and qualitiative research journals.
  4. Choose, adapt, and develop a research questionnaire/tool.
  5. Apply advanced quantitative data analysis techniques using latest statistical software(s)
  6. Demonstrate ability to report empirical findings adequately using IT tools.
  7. Apply advanced numerical skills to conduct the research in the field of specialization
