Dersin Amacı

Her öğrencinin tartışmaları çözmede ve fikirlerini eleştirel ve mantıklı bir sırayla sözlü olarak sunma konusundaki güvenini artırmak; Anahtar bir teori veya teorilerin birleşimini tanımlamak ve desteklemek için akademik yazma becerilerini uygulamak; Küresel bağlamda İslam ve siyaset ile ilgili ana akımları anlama; Müslüman siyaset çalışmasına farklı yaklaşımlar hakkında eleştirel bir farkındalık ve literatüre aşinalık kazanmak.

Ders İçeriği

İslam, yalnızca Müslüman çoğunluk toplumlarında değil küresel olarak politika, kültür ve toplum üzerinde de önemli bir etkiye sahiptir. Kurs, İslam'ın küresel politikadaki dinamiklerini anlamak için tasarlanan birbiriyle bağlantılı tarihsel ve devam eden tartışmaların bazılarına odaklanmaktadır. Hem Müslüman çoğunluk ülkelerinde hem de Batı'da Müslüman siyasetinin çeşitliliği ve karmaşıklığı hakkında bilgi sağlayacaktır. İslamın küresel politikadaki rolü, milliyetçilik, İslamcılık, demokrasi, liberalizm, radikalizm, kadın ve cinsiyet ile olan ilişkisi ile araştırılacaktır.

Açıklamalar

Vize ve final sınavı iki saatlik yazılı sınav olacaktır. Adayların dörtlü listeden seçilen iki soruyu yanıtlamaları gerekecektir.

Kurallar

 

Devam ve katılım gereklidir. Her dersin başında bir yoklama kaydı alınacaktır. İki gecikme, bir devamsızlık olarak sayılacaktır. Dizüstü bilgisayarlar yalnızca ders notları almak için kullanılabilir. Ders başlamadan önce tüm cep telefonları tamamen kapatılmalıdır. Öğrenciler haftalık okuma ödevini tartışmak için sınıfa hazırlıklı gelmelidir.
